I don't think it's quite so simple though. Pentax also still exists as
a workforce of trained employees who collectively have a shared
culture. It's not like Hoya or Ricoh fired everyone and replaced them
with their own staffers. And I imagine that they all work in offices
and factories that Pentax originally set up, so there's real estate
too.

If this weren't true then we'd be shooting Hoya and Ricoh cameras with
the Pentax name merely stamped on them.
