I had the privilege of meeting and talking with survivors of HMCS Athabaskan, sunk in 1945 off France. My father was building an 8' model of her for the War Museum in Ottawa. Their memory of details of the ship as it was at various times was quite amazing. Please pass on my thanks to him for his service. Without people like him helping to liberate Holland I would not be here today.
