Ha! I looked at the photos before I read the text. As I looked at them I thought, "Nice ride, no hills."
;-) Don't much like climbing. Only do it so I can get to the descent. :-) Very nice photos. Really does look like a lovely ride. I went along for a holiday, and took my road bike so I could ride the canal road between the Tekapo A and Tekapo B power stations (about 60km return). These stations are located at lakes Tekapo and Pukaki respectively, with the canal linking the two lakes. The canal road is privately owned by the power company but is open to the public as a scenic route. It's split into two sections - it intersects with the highway about halfway along to form a figure-8. It turns out the first section was closed for repairs so I had to ride on the highway for a while to get to the intersection. I stopped in a few places to take photos with the cellphone. The pics don't capture the full extent of the scenery but they're better than nothing... http://www.multi.net.nz/canal-ride/ I'd rate that as one of the best rides I've ever done even despite the lack of hills. I'll post some photos from Tekapo later.
