Is there convenient time for it to break?
When you are not using it, it won't break, - or at least you won't
notice....

But speaking seriously, - I feel for you.
I just was struggling with my Metz 58 which all of a suddent had
problems mating with the hot-shoe contacts.
Somehow, it didn't want to be pushed all the way in, but rather
pulled back just a little bit.
It took me some time to figure out the optimum position...

This combination (K-7 and Metz 58 AF) started developing this problem
some time ago (sometimes I don't get a good contact), but this was the
culmination so far. I've never had problems with AF-500FTZ and
*istDS, ZX5n. I wonder if it is the flash or the body (hot shoe) that
causes that.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem recently with any of Pentax
bodies or with Metz-58?

Igor
