"Special Presentation" - the bank sends, in the post, a cheque payable to us, to the drawer's bank. So that the drawer's bank can confirm that it will be paid - thereby enabling us to release the goods to the customer. Presented to our bank yesterday, sent ordinary First Class Post to the drawer's bank. "Not yet recieved" as of today. And they are charging �12 ($18) to do this. Not even sent Special Delivery (gteed next day). What a bunch of bankers. At least, I suppose, the branch has not become a trendy wine bar.
