I don't think it was an oversight, I think it was deliberate, using the
Leica as a reference, much like the iPod and steering wheel in an earlier
image.

In other news... it appears that the K-5 is really discontinued and if
you wanted one you'd better grab one now before the price starts
upwards again.
Currently, you can buy a new body on that infernal auction site for as
little as $849. B&H is showing it as "discontinued".
