Just a follow-up to my own question. I've forgotten that the S-M-C
version also added the aperture-closing mechanism (such as is used on
the Spotmatic F).
This alone could count for the few grams of difference between the
Super Tak and the S-M-C Tak. The K20 f4 is clearly a different (and
superior) optical design, but I'm convinced now that the Taks are the
same design and other than the coatings and aperture-closing are the
same beast.
