I received three packages of ebay booty today. All were as advertised as
better. The 55/4 lens for the 6x7 is like new. At $575 with the original
rectangular hood and a B&W skylight filter, it was a good buy. The 135/5.6
Componon-S enlarging lens has perfect glass. a couple of small marks on the
barrel. At $102 it was a very good buy. The Beseler enlarging 16x20 enlarging
easel is a mammoth piece of metal. It's in great shape and was probably a
decent buy at $85. But the jury is still out on this one. I'm not sure how the
paper is aligned, since it has blades on three sides, rather than guides on
the left and top. It might not be as workable as a typical two-blade easel.
(If anyone is familiar with this contraption, please let me know. )
In any case, the point is that I continue to have good luck with ebay
auctions. I can't imagine trying to buy equipment any other way.
