Paul, Stan

Thanks for the feedback.

I decided to uninstall Flash Player entirely, then I downloaded an earlier version and installed that. Things are now back to normal so there's no doubt that the latest update of Flash Player broke things on my system, at least. My wife also installed the latest version this morning on her Win 7 laptop without any apparent issues, so there's probably a conflict with something on my computer that caused the problem. I'll be ignoring update messages for the foreseeable future.

(PS - I'm replying to my own message here because, although I can see Paul and Stan's reply in the archives, nothing has appeared in my email inbox for some hours. It's been one of those mornings.....)

Cheers

Quoting Brian Walters <[email protected]>:

G'day all

When I booted the PC this morning, there was a message from Adobe advising that an update was available for the Flash player. Like an idiot, I installed it.

Then, when I tried viewing the video that Bruce posted ('The Boss' thread) all I could see was a static image. Later when I tried to view Larry's Blurb book preview, Blurb informed me that I needed a newer version of the Flash reader. Is there a later version than the latest version????!!

So now I've tried to look at some of the You Tube links from the June PUG and all I see is a black rectangle - no video, no sound.

Has anyone else installed the latest Flash update? Are you seeing these issues?

If you haven't installed it, I suggest you don't.
