Yes, a trifle close for comfort. Our place was never in any danger, luckily. The wind was from the north so the embers and such were all blowing away from us, and our condo is a 1973 era all-concrete construction high-rise building—very fire resistant, and very unlike the modern, all wood construction structures that burned.
It was quite the spectacular sight, though.
