Unfortunately, the mirror lock up on K2 and K2DMD is next to useless,
IMNSHO. It 1) doesn't stop down the lens 2) doesn't disengage the
mirror up mechanism!!! 3) it's metal vertical shutter is vibrating
enough on its own. So I can't recommend K2DMD for really critical MLU
shots, not at all. For normal MLU shots on tripod it's ok, just not
with really long lenses. Otherwise, except the lousy focusing screen
(mark of any pre-M body, especially compared to other brands :(, it's
a great body. I don't know why they messed up the MLU on K2s so much
when the KX has the good style that stops down the lens.

To LX - it reads the exposure even with MLU engaged, a nice feature
thanks to OTF metering (off the first curtain).

Any KX owners, could you check if the mirror raise mechanism (the
levers on the left side of mirror box, near the stopping down lever,
under the pivot points for the mirror) is really DISENGAGED when the MLU is
engaged?
