Thanks for posting, that Bill. There are some really great photos in the online exhibit. You are right about the composition and incorporation of motion in the many of the shots. The birds in particular are a far cry from just posed on a branch.

This is always amazing, the images are transparencies mounted on 16x20
lightboxes. A stunning way to view photography.

To my eye, this year is better than most in the past. Previously, the chosen
images always seemed to my eye to be 'cool pictures of animals.'  And they
inevitably were. For 2012, my first impression is that they are more
'visually abstract' or compositionally creative, or whatever. Call it 'arty'
but they seem to be trying for more than they have in the past. The B&W is
especially good, though all are digital, not Tri-X.

If you are in the area, it is worth the $12 admission price. Call me ahead
of time, and I can get you in free on my membership.
