Is this a manual focu lens.?? Cause if it is it does great. I have a
real hard time with MF lenses, what i see as focused as opposed to
what the focus beep says is in focus is not close. Thats why i even AF
my macro shots.

Nah, the Promaster is an AF. I've had pretty good luck with my Tokina 28-200 MF zoom, but lately it's a really heavy lens compared to the 70-300, and it's developed a wobble somewhere it its construction that I can feel when I support the focusing ring. So, I'm afraid to use it too much until I can figure out what's happening and maybe try to snug it up. But, it's a rather old, beaten up lens that probably wouldn't be worth the cost to have fixed by anyone who knows what they're doing.

It's a shame, too. I really like that lens. Best $20 I ever spent.
