Similarly, a photographer that is allowed to choose his
own "worst shot" is probably only showing one that still brags in some
way ("i shoot celebrities or famous people", "I was there for historic
events", "I travel the world") or a photo that he wishes he could have
done more with... not one that truly qualifies as his Worst Shot.
I'd have thought it obvious that no-one can have a worst shot, however you
may define worst, but the photographers seem to have chosen the near misses
which they most regret - the one that got away - and that seems like a
reasonable enough definition to me for the purposes of a newspaper article.
Yes - if this turns into a future PUG theme (and I've made a note...),
something like 'Close but no cigar' might be a good title. I fear a
PUG theme of 'My worst shot' would turn into a truly appalling gallery.
Besides which, we've all deleted our worst shots, haven't we?
