OK, thanks. It looks like this only hits you if you "skip generations"
in the tree--I don't think that's affected me, because I generally
have a couple of levels of non-exporting keywords at the top, then one
or more levels of exporting keywords underneath, but I don't think I
ever try to suppress export of one level that's between exporting
levels. (It would hit me for people: People > [HUNT] > Matthew Hunt,
except that I don't export people's names for privacy reasons anyway.)

Looking at the bird example, I guess it also hits you if you want to
have a non-exporting keyword with exporting synonyms. It's never
occurred to me to do that. I guess I don't understand why someone
would want "Grouses" to be in the tree, but non-exporting, but have
the exporting synonym "Grouse". I'd either export both, or just have
"Grouse" be the main keyword, and not have "Grouses" in the tree at
all.

I wish LR would make it easier to see the various keyword properties
(exporting, has synonyms, etc.) while looking at the whole tree. Use
color-coding or asterisks or something.
