Well, Just got it, my second K 2 DMD, and it's in near pristine
condition...

My 6th K2 body, I have 2 other black K2s.

What I've found is it's easy to tell how many shutter cycles the body
has seen (in general terms of course) by the loss of paint on the metal
shutter curtain sections that slide against each other...

The newest body I have has NO apparent shutter curtain wear, and surely
this must mean the body has seen very limited use. I've got a real dog
of a K2 DMD body I picked up for parts (though once I got it I realized
there weren't many parts worth saving) and its shutter curtain shows
extensive "brassing"....

I considered it a bargain, in that it included an M series 50/1.4 for
considerably less than $300.

I just love the heft and feel of this camera. And talking heft, ain't it
quite so when you add the weight of the motor drive with the pistol grip
(with its 12 AA batteries on board).... I bet you 6x7 guys are lighter
than this set up is.... I usually put the grip in the pocket of my cargo
pants and use the cord between the grip and the drive.. a much more
manageable solution. Yet, there is that sense of "weapon flaunting"
when I'm out there with the grip attached. I never fail to get at least
one double take from innocent passers by....

I just love this camera! I may need treatment for this.... I have a
"saved search" set up on ebay to alert me whenever a DMD shows up in the
listings.... They're beginning to get hard to conceal from the
financial dept (wife)...

Ah well, when you're enabled, you're a gOD!
