Think I'd do the same, but be prepared to crop an amount from the bottom to balance the aspect ratio. Believe I'd, also, darken the remaining right side background. I suggest this without downloading the image and trying it. (?) I might start at the lower right hand side and crop up past the hump and over to the right edge of the tree.
