Hey guys,

I know this has probably been discussed a gazillion times over, but in your
opinions, what is the best Pentax mount 80-200mm/f2.8 (or equivalent)?
Happy to go third party if it can be justified...

Somewhere around here I have an old Tokina 80-200/2.8 that is superb.
It's manual focus and non A series, so it's gotta date from the early
80s or so. I bought it used for pretty cheap in the late 80s.
Here's one for Nikon so you know what to look for.

The later ones were called AT-X Pro, IIRC, and were auto focus, but I
don't know if they were ever made for Pentax.

Tokina AT-X 828 AF PRO. They were made in Pentax Kaf-mount; they're excellent quality and they're scarcer than hens teeth. I've got one and it's still one of my two main work-horse lenses.
