> That's a good one. How do you like that NEX? Thanks.
I have nothing but good to say about the NEX-5. 1. Image quality matches the K-7 from what I observe. 2. Exposure is consistently spot on. 3. Ease of use is... easy... despite negative reviews about menu navigation, I have no problem. 4. Light and compact at about 1/3 the weight and size of the K-7 kit. I haven't used the 1080p movie mode yet. I've only the 16mm and 18-55mm zoom lenses at the moment. With the 16 on it's the size of a P&S. I long for the 18-200 ($800) and a 30/3.5 macro is out or will be in a month. It's a great kit for backpacking. Now for the negative. :-) I don't see how Pentax can hope to sell the Q with a tiny sensor at the same price point as the NEX series with APS-C sensors. It might be diminutive and cute, and even generate decent images, but the NEX-5 sensor is 13x the physical dimensions of the Q sensor and is 14.2 vs. 9.7MP. http://snapsort.com/compare/Pentax-Q-vs-Sony_Alpha_NEX-5 The only thing I miss is a viewfinder. I still hold it up to my eye when picking it up and going for a first shot.
