I did notice that DP said if you use the X100 like an Olde Tyme Camera it's wonderful. I will admit, the Face detection on the E-PL1 works a treat and makes parties a bit easier. Of course, I'm not a bit fan of jockeying around the focus point and at short range the focus and compose approach isn't always that good.
My wife's Optio-10 has a pet detection mode. You take a few shots of your dog/cat/wombat and save them. The camera then uses them as template. I'd really poke fun at this but it seems to work with annoying frequency.
