Several months ago I bought a Dell 2410 monitor to use at home with my MacBook
Pro (I use a Dell 2408 with it at work).

At home, it was extremely difficult to get the monitor to recognize the
computer, and display the desktop. I have no idea which of the dozens of
things I tried eventually worked. However, they eventually did.

A few months later... the power strip feeding the monitor got turned off, and
when I connect the MBP... nothing. The computer knows the monitor is there,
but the monitor won't recognize the computer. When I ask the monitor to "scan
sources" it doesn't find anything. When I choose VGA, it says "no VGA cable",
which is complete bullshit because there it is, plugged in (and re-plugged-in,
via an adapter to the Mac's mini display port).

Help, please! It worked fine for months, and now won't work at all.
