I just installed it as well. I don't have Lightroom so I tried it as a stand alone. It loaded my test file OK but I haven't worked out yet how the masks work. I agree that it doesn't do anything that you can't do better in Photoshop but many Lightroom users don't have Ps so it may have some use in those cases.
