Yes, I agree street photography is possible with just about any type of camera by adapting one's method to suit the attributes of the gear. But my original point was that most of Weegee's subjects were dead, and while some camera shutters are said to be capable of waking the dead, I'm sure that in practise it wouldn't happen, nor would any amount of shutter lag deny a photographer the decisive moment :)
