I clip on one electrode to some (<g>) protruding part of my body, and then I place the large flexible form-fitting electrode over any large area of exposed skin. My perspiration acts as the electrolyte, and the beauty of this system is that the electrolyte actually increased with use (it's called "sweat equity") - trust me on this one.
