Sorry I´m late (been in Berlin for a few days) but I agree that copyright
symbols and names inside the pictures reduces the experience of the picture.

I have had pictures stolen in every (?) possible way but I don´t think any of
them would have been avoided with a copyright inside the picture. If it isn´t
large enough to ruin the picture it is easy to remove by some simple editing.

I think that in most jurisdictions it is clearly illegal once you do anything
to active to remove the symbol and name. Thus the name doesn´t have to be
large. My solution has been to include the copyright in the picture but outside
the frame. If you download any of my pictures you will find that it comes with
a white frame and copyright symbol as well as name in the file but outside the
picture. It is very easy to remove, just crop of the frame, but doing that will
be illegal.

Another thing is that the links to the pictures on my we site are not stable so
any direct linking will be hopeless once I add a picture in the gallery (as you
can see each time I update the PAW and refer to the same link).

So, even if I can see the reason for "ruining" the pictures I don´t think it
works and also it is also not necessary.
