Mark, I've got three of them. Are you going to use it with an MZ-S? The general settings are pretty easy. It mostly defaults when put on the body and turned on. If the top left on the LCD doesn't say P-TTL, press mode until it does. Mode button is how you cycle between P-TTL, TTL, Auto and Manual. The zoom button is for manual setting the zoom setting. If you have an FA lens on it will be set automatically.
The wheel with the S button in the middle is how you set values (f stop, compensation, flash power, etc). All you do is push the S button and spin the dial for the desired value and then press S again to save. If there are more settings that can be done for the given mode, each press of the S button will cycle between them. The rest of the stuff is for 2nd curtain synch, high speed synch, contrast control and wireless. Just set the synch switch all the way to the left (green setting) and the wireless doesn't matter (has no effect on normal operation). I did not find this flash to be much different than operating the AF500FTZ or AF330FTZ.
