I think if it were my image I'd combine "Round 2" with the original as a
layer and apply a layer mask to confine the lightened area to the water
behind the dam and the one foreground tree on the lower right, leaving
the rest of the image as original.
The darkness of the rocks and the shadowed face makes the rainbow pop
out for me, but the lighter water works in the impoundment area.

I think the original is more dramatic and concentrates the viewer's attention
on the falls.
