I asked the guy some basic info: what happened (he dropped it 3 ft onto a carpet) are there any cracks (no) does it rattle (no) can he dry fire it (yes, sounded 'on time') when he mounts the prism, does he get a clean fit (yes) when he turns the camera on with the prism + lens, does he get a readout (yes)
I figured the guy didn't know what he was doing, to be honest. I did feel 1/2% bad - but then I remembers that there is a reverse of caveat emptor! BTW: Lemon check! I already had a new 67ii that I had bought a few months before, so I figured that the reciepts and original boxes (which the '2nd hand' unit also came with) would be good for any warranty repair. After all - the original WAS paid for in hard cool cash! >From: "aimcompute" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: 67II: Deal of century! >Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 11:12:28 -0700 > >I'm curious as to whether the camera was sold "as is" or if you >corresponded >with the guy and figured he didn't know what he was doing. > >$700 is still a big chunk of change to drop on a possibly broken camera. > >Was this a camera dealer or an individual? > >Tom C. >- >This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
