Ain't no big thang! I've been fired from a whole lot better jobs than
that one, so I'm doing reasonably well. This ain't no more than a speed
bump in life's highway.
I'm a little down from losing my job, but at the same time, I was
growing to hate where I was working. I loved the job itself, but the
work environment and the co-workers were not good.
They have to pay me my accrued vacation in addition to the pay I'm due.
At least they waited until the end of the payroll week, so I'll have
almost a full paycheck for this period. That will basically carry me
through the month of August and September is when I start drawing
retired pay from the Army National Guard.
Sad to say, but my retired pay from my part-time job will be more than
my full time pay from Target was.
I had intended to stay on a while after my pension kicked in and pay off
my car payment early, but I won't have to make much of a financial
adjustment to continue to live within my means.
All it really means is I won't have a financial surplus I thought was
going to allow me to indulge myself a little. In the meantime, I've got
a lot of work I can do around the house.
Don't got no honey right now, but I sure got the honey-do.

My sympathies John. Keep busy and positive. We are not defined by our
jobs... Regards, Bob S. On Fri, Aug 7, 2009 at 8:42 AM, John

I feel your pain. Really.
Got my pink slip 'bout half an hour ago.
I am, as they say, now free to pursue other interests.

Bummer to hear Larry.
I was given the bronze handshake back in 2007.
It all works out in the end i have found.
Keep your head up.
