Actually, I was having a little think about this while trying to nod off in bed last night (for heaven's sake don't mention this to my S.O., she thought I was just 'tired' ;-) and in fact the more I think about it, the less likely it is that the film slipped out of the take-up spool. Maciej, when you unload a roll after rewind, I presume you wind on the advance lever and click the shutter with nothing inside before loading another roll? This is the only way the rewind button will disengaged from it's connection with the mechanism that allows sprockets to free-wheel backwards. My point is, if the sprockets are still disengaged, then when you put a film in, it will effectively 'double expose', but after the winding lever is cocked, the rewind button *should* pop back out and normal operation resume. What *could* be happening on the roll you had a problem with is that either the rewind button did not pop back out, or the button popped back out but the mechanism itself did not complete it's cycle, and stuck in the 'rewind' mode. At the next change of film, look at the rewind button and make sure it pops back out. This way, if you get another roll of film that does not advance properly, you'll know that there is a fault with the mechanism that the button connects to. It is well within the realm of possibility that it is broken, or in the process of breaking. The problem could well be intermittent for a while before the fault (if any) happens consistently. If you use a winder with the MX, is it causing any interference with the operation of the rewind button? The rewind button on the winder is a simple lever moved sideways and then up, as you may know, to actuate on the camera rewind button. There is a small spring in the winder rewind lever assembly to help it get back to it's rest position. This can break, possibly causing the winder rewind lever to jam - the motion should be free of hindrance. Worth checking. Hope this helps. The question is, has anyone ever gad such a fault on an MX, or any Pentax, or indeed any camera?
