Sigma SA mount cameras are the bastard stepchild of Canon EOS mount and Pentax K mount. They're electronically EOS mount in all regards and have EOS's 44mm register, but use a lightly modified K bayonet (it turns the wrong way) rather than the EOS bayonet. It's generally thought the first SA body was intended to be EOS mount until very late in development when Canon had shut Sigma's intention to use EOS mount down so Sigma substituted a K bayonet that was suitable modified.
