The shadoow effect of No. 1 doesn't work for me, and I feel that the
highlights, while not overexposed, lack contrast.  No. 2 has a harsh
and grimy look that is out of place.  No. 3's background isn't strong
enough to make a good statement about contrasts, but the tonality of
the tree bark and grasses is spot on.  No. 4 is the pick of the
litter.  The bark and foloiage is beautiful and undisturbed by any
incongruous background.  My only wish is that the bottom edge,
especially at the bottom left corner, was slightly darker.  A moderate
vignette might make this an outstanding nature study.
