The multi coating is not that big a deal if you follow the the usual precautions of not shooting into a light source and use a good lens hood. However the later lenses, those which are the same optical formulas as the subsequent [K] mount lenses are usually better than the same focal length of an earlier design. That's kind of a duh comment, but it is something to keep in mind. The Super Takumar lenses coatings were excellent and are still better than many manufactures mulit-coatings.
