I converted an old P&S to Infra Red. It works great with IR flashes for getting dance shots without blinding people. But there isn't usually enough IR to see to aim and focus by. I made an IR lamp, which is enough to see and focus, but not enough to photograph by.
It turns out, however, that it is enough to video by. Down-rezzing gives you big enough effective pixels to increase the ISO. Do the SLRs have the same effect when shooting video?
