That's a very easy thing to deal with. Before I had a network drive I stored my photos on an external usb drive mapped as G:. When I installed the network drive I plugged the old drive into it, copied the file, mapped the new drive as G: and the old one as something else, and LR simply used the new mapping. It is also fairly straightforward if, for some reason, you do want to rearrange things. LR has a facility for finding missing files, and it works like a charm.
