Sorry to hear that.  That's a lot of stress to live with.  Assuming
you "survive" (I'm sure you will) you'll have the stress and
"survivor's guilt" of a number of your colleagues getting the axe.

There's no upside to this - except for in the eyes the beancounters
and shareholders, of course...

October of 2007 we lost 1000 people, some very good. Before that it was the annual Christmas layoff. Honestly, it's a bit cold-blooded, but I never feel "survivor's guilt." Unfortunately, that's my industry and I've been cut before from other companies. Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, they're all doing it. One thing about AOL is that we've had these annual choppings which has kept our numbers lean unlike the Googles, Yahoos and MSs who are really just giant bloated pigs and are finally starting to get their numbers under control.
