I wouldn't worry too much about the extended waranty, they are usually
underwritten by an insurance/warranty company. Circuit City warranties were
done by Assurant Solutions and I expect Ritz is similar. The reserves that
need to be held to cover warranties make it prohibitive for a company to do
it themselves.
