Habeo gratiam Robertus. The Rome decision has been finalized, the dates set (mid-April) and the non-refundable flights booked. And the guidebook you recommended has been ordered. I haven't been able to find an on-line currency exchange that has a current rate for denarii, but will continue looking. We now have a couple of months to work out the details like where do we stay and what goes on the must- see, must-do lists. Not to mention the related ponderings on which lenses, etc.

Ave Stanleie!

Wish I could help, but I've only been there once and that was nearly 30
years ago.

By a strange coincidence 2 people I know, who don't know each other, are there this week. One of them is on a school trip, so her experience won't help you, but the other is an adult breeding pair. When they get back next
week I can find out if they recommend their hotel, if you're still not
sorted by then.

It's bubbling around in my mind to go there again soon. Here's a guide book
I've looked at that seems fun and interesting:

Any suggestions on a reasonable (cheap) place to stay? Other thoughts?
