I find that the M (Magenta) channel of CMYK images also usually has
significant detail to which unsharp masking can be usefully applied. 
The Y (Yellow) and C (Cyan) channels usually have too much noise to
make unsharp masking useful.  That may just be the types of photos I
usually shoot, though.
