Good day, sir ;-).

I had my modest shoulder bag, the G1 fitted with Olympus 25mm lens, some stuff for the galleries (a folio or two), and my usual complement of carryabout junk in the form of cell phone, ipod, notebook, voice recorder, pens, etc. About two-three pounds of stuff, total, and nothing in my pockets. People seeing me snap a photo with the G1 came running over to ask questions about it. The guy with the Canon nearly cried when I handed it to him ... the whole camera and lens weighs less than a third of one of his lenses. I only took a couple of photos there ... most of what I shot was on the BART train going to and from the city. Got a couple I like ... so far.

Why do you carry a notebook computer *and* an ipod with you? And a voice recorder too?

Most recently I have discovered that Pentax K2000 has actually shiftable program mode. It can be set so from the settings menu. It would seem logical to me to buy two K2000s (one for me and one for Galia) but honestly, I am waiting for next generation sensor. I may be as bold as to buy DA 40/2.8 Limited for Galia so that her whole kit will be as small and light as Pentax gear can do today.

I recently had a small gig shooting Hannukah children party for my company. Unfortunately, with Tamron 28-75/2.8 and a flash unit attached, I was all too visible for the kids. Still got a number of good shots.

Equipment often gets in the way of photography.

It always does, isn't it?
