Well, yeah. But name-brand recognition is achieved *through* the high end models, because "all the pros" use them.

Then you have the camera store sales droids pushing them. And the reasoning that if you buy one of these then "you have the full-frame upgrade path open to you". It goes on and on and it's 99% marketing hype. But its effect is real.
