I had one for a short while, traded it for a Tokina ATX 400 5.6. The Sigma
was a fine lens and was quite sharp even wide open. I was lured by the
small size of the Tokina, but the Sigma is sharper wide open and focuses
closer. Build quality seemed fine to me, and it had some nice features
like a focusing limiter switch and AF/MF clutch. It's also gotten pretty
good reviews. The only drawback is the size, but it's not outlandish for a
400mm.
