Thanks for the compliment, Peter. In this case the little Nikon Coolpix L6 was just fine for the job, it has a good lens with a decent zoom range, and the long DOF that comes with the tiny sensor (1/2.5" IIRC) was perfect in this case. Where it falls down is that it's fully autofocus and programmed exposure, no manual anything. My wife doesn't like the LCD viewfinder and wishes it had an optical viewfinder. OTOH it was very cheap, is very pocketable, and delivers surprisingly good quality.
