Managed to spend a good hour or so on Saturday at the World Press Photo
exhib, which rolled into Sydney last week. Interestingly, the jury
president's foreword used the theme that too many photos submitted tried
to look like previous winners. So much so that they lost sight of the
aim of the press photograph. If so, the judges must have filtered well,
because, while less confronting and shocking than last year, I found
each of the photographs at the very least engaging, and at best mesmerising.

I highly recommend catching this if you can.
