I think Dave might have been in even deeper shit if he had tried the hacked firmware. He has reported both autofocus and manual focus problems. They are unrelated problems. He needs professional help. He may not be getting it from Pentax Canada, but messing around with the hacked firmware would probably have caused him even more problems..
