Classic push sell scam that dates back to the days of mail order outfits in Brooklyn. When you call to order, they'll either aggressively push accessories or aggressively try and sell you things that are supposed to come in the box, like batteries, manuals, straps & software. And always at ridiculous costs (often as much as 10x list for the accessories). If you don't bite, the camera suddenly becomes 'out of stock'.
If you order online, they'll call you up to 'confirm' and then do this. These scams have been running since at least the 70's. -Adam On 2/1/08, J. C.
