Hmm.. The Parhelia chipset is from Matrox. Shouldn't be a problem with
the driver overriding the colour profile set by the system, I think.
We have two different series of recent (G550-based) Matrox cards at
work, and neither mess up colour profiles.

I think that doing as you suggest could be the right thing to do; to
insert the calibrated profile as default.

>From your first post I assume you have recently made a switch from CRT
to LCD screen. I think you're right that the old OptiCal wasn't ideal
for calibrating LCD screens.
