Speaking of cormorants (don't we always:-), some Wisconsin fisherman came up
with the ultimate solution: Three Little Pigs. Seems there was a huge cormorant
population on an island in Lake Michigan, and they were wreaking havoc on the
local fishing grounds. Apparently, none of the natural enemies of the cormorant
live on the island, so the birds multiplied exponentially. Well, some
enterprising fishermen brought three baby pigs to the island, built them a
shelter and left them to suffice for themselves. They dined on cormorant eggs.
Apparently, they dined heartily for quite some time before the environmental
nazis figured out what was going on. Of course they had a fit, but by then the
cormorant population was well under control. Less photo ops for PDMLers, more
fish for Wisconsin anglers.
