thanks. in the 17mm pic the curvilinear does not seem so
apparent, or did I just miss it?

I see your point. not so long ago I got a pentax W30 p/s.
it is great fun to just carry that around.
on the other hand, this will be my first trip there
(second to u.s. of a, first was > 20 yrs ago)
and who knows when or if there will be a second.

the main lenses I had/have with Z-1 were FA*28-70
(which I use as standard lens) and the FA*80-200 for tele,
with the 50/1.4 for low light and the zenitar fish-eye for fun.
typically the 80-200 stays home unless some use is anticipated
or lugging it around is not an issue.
I guess I'v grown accustomed to the idea of 'always' having 28-70
and sometimes having 28-200 (35mm equiv) available.
so the to DA* lenses have the appeal of familiar fov,
while being more compact and less weight and....

with the k10d came the 18-55 kit lens I forgot in previous post,
I mainly use it when I need wider angle than the 28-70 gives.
I now again have M28/2.8 and M135/3.5 - could be nice to once
try to limit myself to these and see what it brings.

Axel.
