Frankly, I don't give a tinker's cuss who designed it, made it or marketed
it. what I am interested in is does it perform and does it fir my Pentax
bodies? I think historically Pentax have "produced" good lenses and some
real stinkers in the past, just having a Pentax badge (or any other brand
for that matter) does not guarantee performance.

Yeah - Pentax have only done it a couple of times so they are actually
better than most. And all Pentax SLR bodies seem to be made by Pentax.
What irritates me in this thread is that some people are so gullible - even
when things are represented in a non-credible way, they believe everything.
Maybe next time some salesperson tells someone that the 3.5/100 macro is
really designed by Pentax and made to Pentax specs.
